The Dingle Whiskey Bar is the latest addition to the Porterhouse group, located on Naussau Street in the heart of Dublin. The name is taken from the Dingle whiskey distillery in Co. Kerry, which is also owned by the Porterhouse group. The bar aims to bring a taste of the “western fringe” to Dublin. The interior is reclaimed whiskey barrel oakwood which gives a beautifully cosy sense to the bar that you will feel as soon as you walk inside.
The Dingle Whiskey Bar specialise in everything from Ireland’s secret single pot still classics to the malts of Scotland 5 traditional whiskey regions. They have it all, from the honeyed white oak maples of Booker’s small batch bourbon to the traditional stalwarts of Ireland’s own exploding whiskey brands. Their own (John McDougall) was once distillery manager at the famous “Laphroaig” which produced the smoky malts of Islay, which they also have in the Dingle Whiskey Bar. Their goal is to celebrate whiskey in all its rich and wonderful diversity. When their own distillery’s whiskey is ready they will be stocking it in the Dingle Whiskey Bar, in it’s rightful place! The bartenders have endless knowledge on whiskey tasting, so if you’re unsure what to order just ask! They will guide you to the whiskey best suited to what you’re looking for.
Whiskey Class and Tastings
Since the staff are well educated in the topic of whiskey, why not share this knowledge? The question is, do you know your single malt from your single grain whiskies? What is a blend and which whiskey should you buy or taste? To discover the answers to these questions, experience the whiskey class and tasting in the Dingle Whiskey Bar. The Dingle whiskey class and tastings will take you through the historic and new distilleries dotted around the globe. You will get to taste a selection of different styles. There will be discussion on the various styles and complexities of whiskey. Most importantly, you will have fun! The whiskey class and tastings are every Tuesday in the Dingle Whiskey Bar from 7:00pm-8:30pm.
