Liberties Copper Alley Single Malt 10yr
The Whiskey Trail is delighted to welcome ‘Copper Alley Single Malt 10yr’ as our Whiskey of the month for July 2018. Hailing from the beating heart of the Liberties Distillery in Dublin’s fair city, this elegant whiskey pays homage to a rather dark era of Dublin’s history. “In the heavenly shade of Christ Church Cathedral, there are still traces of an underworld where high and low society would meet in nightly sinful abandon. By day, Copper Alley in the Heart of the Dublin Liberties rang to the cries of Hawkers and tradesman, tanners and merchants by night, the pick pockets and cut-throats, the tavern-keepers and brothel-owners plied their busy trade.”
The whiskey has been matured in ex-bourbon oak barrels and finished of in 30 year old Oloroso sherry casks for 6 months. What makes this whiskey so special is the fact that only 31 sherry casks were chosen for this bottling which in turn makes it limited in numbers. The whiskey is non-chill filtered and has a ABV of 46%. Check out our review of this whiskey here.
