The Redbreast Lustau Edition is a unique collaboration between Midleton Distillery in County Cork and Bodegas Lustau in Jerez, Spain. Due to its immense popularity this expression has become part of the core range.
The nose is juicy yet complex. Delightful sherry notes sing out with the apricot tones which mingle quite nicely with the aromas of fresh figs, almonds and toasted oak with a lick of liquorice.
…a collaboration between the master blender at Midleton Distillery and winemakers at Bodegas Lustau; the whiskey spends time in former oloroso Sherry barrels. Big, spicy flavors sweep over the palate in waves: vanilla, waxy honey, apple butter, dried apricot and dried fig, drying to chamomile tea and oak midpalate, and winding into a rich honey finish
Wine Enthusiast
The juiciness is amplified by the high acidity yet retains a smooth round body. Chinese pear, wilted wildflowers mix beautifully with the mandarin and sherry notes which pop as it warms, a gentle eucalyptus note rounds the palate off nicely.
This a great example of a marriage between a good sherry bodega and whiskey producer. Enjoy and avoid adding water as it will dull it. Some Irish Whiskey is perfect straight from the bottle and this is a fine example,

NOSE
A welcoming mix of spiced apple juice, dried fruits, dusty oak, orange peel, pear drops, crystalised ginger and creme caramel. The aroma brings a flood of memory
PALATE
Creamy pot still mouth feel is luxurious, Sweet, fruity and creamy. Some classic pot still prickliness at the start and some touches of sappy oak, tart citrus, dried fruits and chocolate tofffees.
FINISH
The flavour develops in the mouth with a smooth transition from tart, bittersweet fruit to headier, chocolate, spice and sappy oak flavours. Endless. Sweetness and pot-still spices endure while oloroso sherry and Spanish oak have the last word.
