This has been a fantastic week for the company as they announced that Sean Fenny is the new brand ambassador in Ireland, who will replace the badly missed Marcus Parmenter.
French Cognac Casks from Camus
Created through a collaboration between Camus, the world’s leading family-owned cognac producer, and the Baring Family’s Revelstoke Trust, Lambay Irish Whiskey is a combination of centuries-old Irish whiskey making expertise and five generations of French Cognac blending and maturation expertise.
Lambay Malt Whiskey is the ultimate expression of this renowned blending expertise from House Camus and is crafted under the watchful eye of Lambay’ Master of Maturation, Yonael Bernard. All single malts within this blend are independently sourced, first bourbon barrel matured and then partially finished in hand-selected French oak cognac casks, as is the signature finish for all Lambay Whiskeys. Included in this blend are Lambay Single Malt casks that have been exposed to the sea air and maritime winds on Lambay Island.

Lambay Whiskey’s blended Malt Irish Whiskey Tasting Notes:
This unique vatting has been bottled at a higher abv of 43% to previous releases from the Lambay Irish Whiskey Company. W have reviewed the Lambay Small Batch Blend and Lambay Single Malt, which is now in very limited supply and soon to be sold out!! Lambay Malt Whiskey is mahogany brown in colour, with gentle floral and malt notes, tropical ripe banana and effuses exotic tones of cardamom and fig, with a finish of long lasting malt and lingering sweetness.
Malt, malt and more malty malt. This vatting of three different malts gives a bonanza of tropical floral fruits. Initially warm ripe mango’s come to the forefront, a sharpness of papaya juices and the familiarity of ripe bananas greet the senses. The aromas are wonderful.
The mouth feel is fantastic, smooth and luxurious, it reminded me of a Caramac Bar melting in my mouth. Tropical Malts, Dried Berries, Nutmeg and Cardamom appear. Coconut shavings are hiding in the undertones.
Long lasting malty goodness fizzes across your palate. The flavours are lingering, with a light sweetness and more nutmeg. But for me the spice is the hero of the finish, it’s unlike any other whiskey and I couldn’t quite put my finger on the flavor. It made me think of coconut and banana sherbet. Let me know what you think in the comments below??
