Teeling Whiskey Unveils Second Bottling in Renaissance Single Malt Series
Teeling Whiskey, the second bottling of “The Renaissance”; a limited edition series of unique Irish Single Malts.
The series, launched in 2019, is crafted to celebrate the true global Renaissance of Teeling, Dublin and Irish whiskey as it continues to be the fastest growing Premium Spirit in the world supported by the vibrancy from the many new entrants to the category. The Renaissance Series Two bottling follows on from the sold out, award-winning first release which won Gold at both the 2020 International Wine and Spirits Competition and 2020 Irish Whiskey Masters.
The second bottling of The Renaissance Series consists of 18-Year-Old Single Malt that was aged initially in ex-Bourbon barrels before being finished in high quality, ex-Australian Shiraz wine casks, imparting distinct hints of ripe red fruits with sour cherry notes and a delicate soft spice. Limited to just 9,000 bottles, the resulting Single Malt is then bottled at 46% with no chill filtration, a signature of all Teeling Whiskeys.

One of the keys to Teeling’s success is their choice of rare and unique casks. The choice here to use Austrilan Shiraz casks is truly unique and something that really appeals to my palate in particular. The delicate base of Irish Whiskey is the perfect canvas upon which to layer flavour and character. Varying the time, style and number of barrels used during the maturation process adds to the subtlety and complexity of flavour.
Teeling Whiskey we are renowned for doing things differently. The delicate base of Irish Whiskey is the perfect canvas upon which to layer flavour and character. Varying the time, style and number of barrels used during the maturation process adds to the subtlety and complexity of flavour. Teeling don’t like to take anything out. They don’t chill filter the Whiskey prior to bottling, leaving as much of the body, character and richness in the bottle. From cask strength to Teeling’s signature ABV of 46% this whiskey retains all the big flavors of summer fruits and natural character.

Teeling Renaissance Series Number 2 Whiskey Review Tasting Notes:
I was lucky enough to work two seasons in Castella’s Winery (Yellow Tail Wine) for the 2007/2008 vintage. During that time I became a big fan of Austrailan Shiraz wines and the effect the hot summers and lack of rain water can have on the grapes. The heavy oak infulence used in seasoning this wines are the perfect fit for Irish Whiskey. The Teeling whiskey company have done itr again with
NOSE
The colour of this whiskey is very eye catching, it looks ruby red in the right light. Maybe it’s the colour that made me think of cherries first, but that quickly moves to summer fruits and being Irish Strawberrys come first. Then dark fruits appear plums, garden lavender. Sit with the glass for a while and warm it with your hand and sweet spiced aromas start appearing.
PALATE
The palate is lively, it’s like a summers garden dancing on your tongue. Strawberry and peach is what I taste first. As you let the liquid swirl around your mouth the red wine influence come through, red grapes, dark berries and grainy pears, bring body and delicious spicy tannin’s.
FINISH
The finish is medium to long, toasted oak and nuts, dry tannin’s, red wine develops to spicy cinnamon & luscious soft fruits. This leaves your mouth crying out for more.
