Dating Back to 1872 Yellowstone Bourbon Whiskey is one of Kentucky’s Oldest Brands
Yellowstone Kentucky straight bourbon borrows its name from America’s very first national park. In 1872, Yellowstone bourbon was crafted to honor the park’s historic wonder, beauty and pioneering spirit.
It all began when a man named Jacob Beam sold his first barrels of corn whiskey. This family was there at the start of the Kentucky bourbon business boom. Seven generations later, brothers Steve and Paul Beam started their own chapter of the family history book as the proud Kentucky bourbon distillers behind Limestone Branch Distillery.
7th Generation Family Distillers in Kentucky
Limestone Branch is the home of the Yellowstone label, as owners, brothers Steve and Paul Beam, are descendants of M.C. Beam & William Dant, whose brother, J.B. was the original distiller producing Yellowstone. Both families were involved in producing the whiskey until 1944, when the brand was sold to Glenmore.
In 2014 Luxco completed a partial acquisition of Lebanon, and the Kentucky-based Limestone Branch Distillery, the two companies have been hard at work reinvigorating the brand. Yellowstone have started producing higher-end whiskeys, such as the Yellowstone 105 Limited Edition that this brand deserves.
Limestone Branch Whiskey Distillery
Limestone Branch has no physical connection with the original Yellowstone distillery except the fact that it is in the blood of the people who work there. It’s still a young distillery, and until recently, it was turning out only non aged spirits, their Bowling & Burch Gin is of extremely high quality. To grow the brand they have sourced whiskey for the Yellowstone Select release. This is a blend made up of four and seven year old Kentucky bourbons.
Discover the family heritage and history when you visit their working distillery to taste their award-winning craft spirits.

Yellowstone Select Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes:
A delicate fusion of flavors from seventh-generation distillers, this straight bourbon features a handpicked blend of 4 & 7 year old bourbons, for an exclusive small-batch whiskey that honors its deep family origins.
Swirl this bourbon around in the glass, before you sip. You’ll notice first the intriguing dark amber colour and heavy legs as the alcohol tears run down the glass. This is a really easy drinking bourbon with a well-balanced flavor profile. If you enjoy notes of rye with a smoky oak finish, this is one for you.
NOSE
Familiar sweet flavors first make an appearance, vanilla, caramel and a dark oak bass. You need to let this whiskey breathe for a few minutes in the glass. Rye spice, chewy black cherries and soft toasted leathery oak can be found.
PALATE
The taste is similar to the nose, caramel and oak are the first impressions. There is an oily mouthfeel, not like an Irish Pot Still, more like a dense Scottish malt. This sensation makes you think of smoked caramel and vanilla pie.
FINISH
The Rye content here give a nice mouthfeel too on the finish. If you drink rye whiskey you’ll feel at home with the warm sweet woody spices. Wood fades on the finish into a melting caramel.
Preserve Yellowstone Park 1 Bottle at a Time
To ensure the brand supports it’s name sake, the distillers are donating a portion of Yellowstone bourbon proceeds to the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), an independent, nonpartisan organization devoted to nurturing our country’s national parks for future generations.
